Privacy
This website collects almost nothing, and the little it does collect only arrives if you type it into the one form.
What this site does not do
- No cookies, of any kind
- No analytics, and no visitor measurement
- No advertising or tracking pixels
- No third-party scripts or fonts loaded from anywhere else
- Nothing written to your browser’s storage
- No profile of you, and nothing sold or shared
Those are measurements rather than intentions. A test in the build checks them on every deploy, so if it ever stops being true this page changes before you read it.
Why this is worth saying
You may be reading a page about HIV, hormone therapy or a pregnancy decision. Whether a website is quietly recording that is a fair thing to want an answer to, and “we respect your privacy” is not one.
The one form
The launch-notify form asks for a name and an email address. That is the entire list, and the server rejects any other field outright rather than storing it — so even a modified page cannot send us anything else.
The name does not have to match your ID. It is used to address one email.
What it is for: one email, when we open. Not a newsletter, not a mailing list you have to escape.
Where it is stored: with our email provider, which holds it on our behalf. It is not part of any medical record, because none exists.
How long: until we open and send that email, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
How to remove it: every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete the record at any time without giving a reason — below, in one field.
Please do not put health information in that form. It is not a secure channel, it is not a way to reach a clinician, and nothing typed into it becomes part of a medical record.
What this policy does not cover
This covers a website belonging to a clinic that is not open. There is no patient record here, no health information is collected, and nobody is a patient yet.
When Kind Clinic opens, the handling of personal health information will be governed by Ontario’s health privacy legislation and by a separate policy written for it. That is a different document with different obligations, and folding the two together now would mean claiming a custodian’s duties that nobody yet holds.
Who is responsible
A Privacy Officer has not been appointed yet, and this page will name them when one is. Until then, if you have a concern about how this website handles your information, you can contact the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario directly at www.ipc.on.ca or 1-800-387-0073. You do not need to come through us first.
Common questions
Can you tell which pages I looked at?
No. There is no analytics of any kind. Our host keeps ordinary server logs to deliver and secure the site, as every web host does, and we do not read them to build a picture of any visitor.
Will anything appear on my device?
No cookies and nothing in browser storage. Closing the tab leaves nothing behind from us.
Does the pharmacy downstairs see this?
No. Kind Pharmacy is a separate business with its own site and its own form, and neither passes anything to the other. Kind Clinic and Kind Pharmacy are separate businesses under common ownership. You can fill your prescription anywhere.
I signed up and changed my mind.
Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or ask us to delete the record. Neither requires an explanation.
Is this page the legally required privacy policy?
It is the policy for this website. The clinical one comes with opening, and will be published before anybody is a patient.
